Ammunition

Milsurp ammunition can come in various forms - Above is an 8-round enbloc clip for the US M1 Garand rifle which came in a bandoleers of six clips.  This is modern Greek surplus ammunition sold through the CMP (Civilian Marksmanship Program www.odcmp.org ) - Great surplus ammo!

Surplus ammo is available in a wide range of conditions - Fresh and new to nasty, corroded and old.  Most older surplus ammo is corrosively primed and requires thorough cleaning shortly after firing.  This ammunition is also usually Berdan-primed, and/or steel-cased and may not be reloadable.

Some more common types of surplus ammunition: 5.7 x 45mm Nato, 6.5 x 50  Japanese Arisaka, 6.5 x 51 Carcano, 6.5x 55 Swedish Mauser, 7 x 57 mauser, 7.35 x 51 Carcano, .30 Carbine, 7.5 x 55 Swiss, 7.5 x 54 French, .30-06 Springfield, 7.62 x 54 Rimmed Mosin Nagant, 7.65 Mauser, .303 British, 7.92 x 57 Mauser, 8 x 56 Hungarian and more - These are just rifle cartridges - There are pistol cartridges too! 

Use caution when using surplus ammunition - Make sure to discard corroded or rusty ammunition.

Surplus ammunition in good condition is usually quite inexpensive and make for great shooting fun!
